Are Flute Lessons For You?

Books may tell you how to finger the notes and count, but they can’t catch you when you make a mistake, coach you to get a good tone, or teach you to play musically. They can’t check your posture and hand position, or tell if you play out of tune.

A book may help you with some basics, but a flute teacher acts as a personal trainer who can collaborate with you to solve your problems and work with your own learning style.

A book never tells you to go home and practice more, helps you with stage fright, or holds a recital.

With more than 20 years experience in teaching flute, degrees in Education and Music,  I work with all ages and levels. Lessons in flute and piccolo are taught in my studio in Carmel, Indiana, in your home, or via Skype if you are out of the Indianapolis area. Lessons are offered in 30 minute and 60 minute intervals. Coaching sessions for auditions and competitions are 90 minutes.

The Carnegie Hall Royal Conservatory Achievement Program (The Achievement Program) provides a recognized national standard of musical success through an effectively sequenced course of study from beginner to advanced levels.

The Achievement Program inspires excellence through individual student assessments and allows students to celebrate accomplishment and track their progress with others across the country. It also supports teachers with high-quality and innovative resources.
