Are private Lessons For You?
We learn by doing in the studio. Students are immersed in an experiential learning environment entrenched in music, history, performance, and the spirit of sharing. Students are motivated to become skilled and masterful at their instrument.
- Books can teach basic fingerings and rhythm, but they can’t discuss phrasing, nuance, meaning, and intentionality. Nor can they demonstrate how to play with sensitivity or musically. They can’t check your posture and hand position, or tell if you play out of tune. Human interaction is best for hands-on instruction.
- If your goal is to become a better player, and you have an interest in music-making for life, at a professional level or an amateur one, learning and collaborating with a private teacher will give you feedback, encouragement, nurturing, and a platform upon which to explore your musicianship and perform.
- And, who will tell you to go home, practice and focus more, help you overcome performance anxiety, organize and execute recitals,. or schedule performances in the community?
